About me.

Hello! I’m Melissa (she/her/ella), a therapist licensed to practice in the states of Texas and Massachusetts. I’m a first generation Latina and bilingual in Spanish and English. I have had the privilege of working with survivors of trauma for the past 7 years. Throughout that time I have worked with people healing from a variety of different experiences.

My approach is rooted in creating a safe and empathetic space for clients to explore and process their experiences. I believe that therapy must be carefully tailored to each individual. I am certified in EMDR and use it with clients extensively to relieve symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, depression, as well as to process many other issues and life stressors. I provide Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) and I also incorporate mindfulness-based techniques, parts work, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

With a deep commitment to inclusivity and cultural humility, I strive to create a safe and affirming environment for people of all backgrounds including those in BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities. I honor the unique experiences, identities, and challenges that each person brings.

I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Master of Science in Social Work, Bachelor of Social Work, and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. I am EMDR Certified through the EMDR International Association and have also obtained a Certification in Psychedelic Therapy and Integration from Fluence. I am an active member of the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association (EMDRIA) and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). As a lifelong learner, I am dedicated to staying current with advancements and updates in therapeutic interventions to provide the most effective support for my clients.
